The OnGrid team successfully demonstrated self-recharging drone technology in a live demonstration at the SDU UAS Center in HCA Airport on April 4th.
After a quick introduction of the technology to the audience, the drone took off and latched itself onto the powerline for charging. Accompanied by the signature 50 Hz tune of the charging circuit, the audience was introduced to the broad applicability of the technology. After charging for a while, the drone safely took off from the powerline and landed back on the ground, after which the audience was allowed to inspect the drone hands-on.
